2026 Rates

In order to make my practice accessible to a broad range of people, I use The Green Bottle Method to manage my fees. It is a sliding scale that encourages people to pay according to their available resources. Those with greater financial privilege contribute more, allowing those with less access to pay according to their means.

Please use graphic below to determine which tier you fall under, and what you will pay. I will not ask for verification. Note: the green shade on the graphic is meant only to illustrate the level of resource.

I am happy to provide paperwork for you to give to your insurance if they reimburse what you pay for out of network providers. Some plans reimburse clients well.

  • Tier 3  $175/50 minute session (prorated for longer sessions)
  • Tier 2  $165/50 minute session (prorated for longer sessions)
  • Tier 1  $155/50 minute session (prorated for longer sessions)

  • Phone sessions over 10 minutes, and letters or requested paperwork (other than billing receipts) are pro-rated based on your tier

Good Faith Estimate documentation is provided to new clients who are not using insurance.

For therapy intensives please see the Intensive page for rates.

Payment

Payment is due at the time of each session and I do not bill for sessions.  I cannot continue to see you if you have a balance due.

Cancellation Policy

If you do not show up for your scheduled therapy appointment, and you have not notified me at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the session.  Insurance will not cover this cost.

Insurance

I accept Premera, Lifewise (except Cascade Select plan), First Choice, Kaiser PPO only, and Aetna Insurance. Therapy Intensives only are not covered by insurance.

Other Insurance Companies:

I am considered an out-of-network provider by other insurance companies.  This means that clients who have insurance may be eligible to be reimbursed a significant portion of my fee.  In addition, I can provide you with a receipt for services to submit to your insurance company, to make reimbursement simpler for you.

Some clients prefer to work with a therapist outside of their insurance plan for the following reasons:

  • You enjoy a much greater degree of privacy and confidentiality, as I am not required to share as much of your personal information and history with the insurance companies.

  • You are not limited to only a certain number of sessions, or certain treatment protocols that are determined by the insurance companies in order to tightly control their costs.

  • Because you are working directly and privately with me, we can decide together on the methods we will use, and the length of time we will work together, rather than having these decisions made by a third party.

To determine if you will be reimbursed for my services by your insurance, the first thing you should do is call them. Check your coverage carefully and make sure you understand their answers.  Determining if you will be reimbursed is your responsibility, prior to beginning treatment.

Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. Please check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions:

  • Do I have mental health insurance benefits?

  • What is my deductible and has it been met?

  • How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?

  • Are family therapy, couples counseling, and children's therapy covered?

  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?

  • Is approval required from my primary care physician?

  • Are there any other restrictions I should know about?
